Ward System
The Municipality of Port Hope has two Wards: Ward 1 (also known as the Urban Area) and Ward 2 (also known as the Rural Area).
Which ward do I live in?
Generally, Ward 1 is the urban area, the part of the Municipality that, prior to amalgamation, formerly known as the Town of Port Hope. This ward extends from Hamilton Road in the east, to just west of the Welcome/Highway 401 off-ramp. The northern boundary of Ward 1 is Highway 401, and the southern boundary is Lake Ontario.
There are four Councillors dedicated to Ward 1
Ward 2 is the rural area, the part of the Municipality that was formerly known as the Township of Hope. The northern boundary of Ward 2 is the Challice/Eagleson 1st Line Road.
There are 2 Councillor dedicated to Ward 2.
