Mayor’s 2024 Kids + Youth Art Contest: Official Rules 2024
- MUNICIPALITY OF PORT HOPE, TERMS AND ELIGIBILITY TO ENTER
The Mayor’s Corner Art Contest, hosted by the Mayor’s Office, is open to all residents of the Municipality of Port Hope ages 3 to 17 years.
The contest period will open on September 23, 2024, and close on October 8, 2024.
All entries must be returned by final close date of October 8, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. (EDT) in order to be eligible for a prize. Entries become the property of the Municipality of Port Hope and will not be returned.
No purchase is necessary or required to enter and to win.
- HOW TO ENTER
The theme of the contest is “What I love about Port Hope.” Participants may create a picture using materials of their choice.
Entrant’s name, age, grade and a guardian’s name and email and/or phone number must be clearly labelled on the submission.
Entrants can drop off their submissions to Town Hall or send them in to 56 Queen Street Port Hope ON L1A 3Z9 (Attention Mayor’s Corner Art Contest).
- PRIZES AND AWARDING
A prize of a gift card for a Port Hope based business valued at $30.00 will be awarded to the winner(s) for their submission. Winner(s) will be announced at the Council meeting on October 15, 2024. Gift card excludes LCBO and cannabis retailers.
Following the end of the applicable Contest Period, The Mayor will select one (1) entrant from each grade category to be deemed the winner.
Categories are outlined as: Kindergarten/Primary (up to grade 3), Junior (grades 4 to 6), Intermediate (grades 7 to 8), and High School (grades 9 to 12)
The prize is non-transferable, not redeemable for cash and must be accepted as awarded. By entering the contest, entrants agree to abide by these rules, and the decisions of the Municipality. The guardians of the qualifying winner will be notified by phone number or email shortly after the close of the contest period date. Winners will be able to pick up their prize from the Town Hall within two (2) weeks after being announced the winner. Any entry that is deemed offensive, distasteful, or inappropriate will be disqualified and not accepted into the contest.
- LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
By participating, entrants agree to release, discharge and hold harmless the Municipality of Port Hope, and its respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, agents and their employees, officers, directors, and representatives from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in this contest or any contest related activities and the acceptance and use, misuse, or possession of any credit awarded hereunder.
By entering this contest, participants accept that the Municipality of Port Hope may use their entries (where applicable) in their promotions and website. Participation in this contest and acceptance of the prize constitute the winner’s permission for the Municipality of Port Hope to use their names, photographs, biographical information, and/or any statements made by each winner regarding the contest without notice of additional compensation.
- RIGHT TO CANCEL OR SUSPEND CONTEST
If for any reason the contest is not capable of running as planned, due to infection by computer virus, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Municipality of Port Hope, that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this contest, the Municipality of Port Hope reserves the right to disqualify any individual(s) who tamper with the entry process, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest.
This contest complies with all Canadian laws. This contest is operated and administered by the Municipality of Port Hope.
