Update on the Vacant Ward 2 Council Seat
At the recent Committee of the Whole meeting, Council Members considered Report CS-03-24, which explored options for filling the vacant seat in Ward 2. After comprehensive discussion, direction was provided to appoint the runner-up from the 2022 Municipal Election for Ward 2 as the potential new Councillor. The first runner up in 2022 was Darrell Toms. The Clerk is contacting Mr. Toms to confirm his eligibility and willingness to serve our community in this capacity through the end of the 2022-2026 term of Council.
It is important to note that this decision is provisional. The final appointment will be deliberated upon at the Council meeting scheduled for March 5, where an appointment by-law will be presented for consideration.
