Police Services
Policing services in Port Hope's urban area are provided by Port Hope Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police provides service to the rural area. Both services share information and resources on a regular basis to ensure the safety and security of the citizens of the Municipality of Port Hope.
Port Hope Police Services Board
Both Police Services are overseen by the Port Hope Police Services Board, a five-member civilian body. The Chief of the Port Hope Police Service and the Detachment Commander of the Northumberland OPP both report to the Port Hope Police Services Board.
Board meetings are open to the public and are usually held at 3 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of the month in the Leonard Hutchings Community Room at the Port Hope Police Facility at 55 Fox Road. The Board does not meet in August.
