Property Standards By-law to be Considered for Final Approval
Residents are advised that the updated Property Standards By-law was presented to Members of Council at the Committee of the Whole meeting on October 22, 2024. This By-law sets important regulations for property upkeep, ensuring safety, and aesthetics throughout the community.
The review of the Property Standards By-law began in early 2024 and included a thorough community engagement process. Residents, stakeholders, and committees of Council were invited to share their feedback and suggestions. The input received has been carefully reviewed, and, where possible, integrated into the updated By-law. This review represents the first major update to Property Standards since the original By-law was adopted in 2006.
Council will consider final approval of the updated Property Standards By-law at their next meeting on November 5, 2024. Community members who would like to provide additional comments or information for Council’s consideration are encouraged to email the Municipal Clerk with their comments or submit a deputation request to address Council at the November 5, 2024 meeting.
