Additional Municipal Amenities Opening
Further to the COVID-19 Update #12 that was issued by the Municipality on May 15, 2020, the following is a list of amenities that have been officially reopened for public use:
- Baulch Road dog park
- Municipal picnic areas, including Optimist Park, Lake Street Gazebo, East and West Beach
- Municipal skate park
- Municipal tennis courts
Please note that the tennis courts at the Town Park Recreation Centre are public courts; however, the Port Hope Racquet Club has reserved specific timeslots, which permits Racquet Club members priority use of courts.
These timeslots are as follows:
- Monday to Friday: 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- Thursdays: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Sundays: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Hand sanitizer stations have been installed at the tennis courts, dog park and the skate park. Please apply the hand sanitizer before and after using these facilities. Please note that washrooms and water fountains will not be available at any of the above listed locations, and all municipal buildings remain closed at this time.
Other Municipal amenities that have reopened, per Provincial direction include:
- Sport and recreation fields, including soccer pitches and baseball diamonds, for non-team sports
- The boat launch
- Access to East Beach and West Beach
A reminder to residents that group gatherings greater than five are still prohibited, per the Provincial Emergency Order. Additionally, physical distancing of at least two metres must always be practiced when visiting these municipal amenities.
