Weekend Road Closures: June 3 to 5
Residents are advised of the following road closures expected this weekend to accommodate the various events being held in the Municipality.
Special Olympics Torch Run
Beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 3 the Special Olympics Torch Run will be taking place from Toronto Road, to the downtown area, to Peter Street. Fire and Police escorts will be present and there may be minor traffic delays.
Prom Drive-up
The Port Hope high school graduating class will be hosting prom at The Port (15 Cavan Street) on Friday June 3, 2022. To accommodate a safe drop-off experience for the students, the following road closures will be in place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Cavan Street (from Barrett Street to Walton Street)
- South Street (from Brown Street to Cavan Street)
Heroes Highway Ride and Rally
Residents can expect the following impacts to accommodate the Heroes Highway Ride and Rally on Saturday, June 4, 2022
Road closures
The following road closures will be in place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Walton Street (from Ontario Street to Mill Street)
- Queen Street (from Walton Street to Robertson Street)
- Augusta Street (from Queen Street to Elias Street)
Transit re-route
The public transit service central hub will be relocated from Town Hall to the corner of Robertson Street and Queen Street.
- Route A: will not be stopping at the Walton Street stop just West of Ontario Street but will instead continue West from Robertson Street up to Pine Street and continue West on the usual route.
- Route B: will not stop at the Ontario Street stop just South of South Street but will continue North on Mill Street and continue its usual route.

Ganaraska 250 Vintage Motorcycle Road Run
The Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group is hosting their annual Ganaraska 250 Road Run and Award Dinner at the Town Park Recreation Centre on June 4. Camping participants will be arriving June 3 and departing June 5. Residents are advised that transit will be re-routed and there will be no stop at the Town Park Recreation Centre for the weekend.
Walton Street
A reminder to residents that Walton Street will be closed from Church Street to Pine Street, beginning Monday, June 6, to accommodate Phase 1 of the Walton Street reconstruction project.
