Cavan Street (north of Highland Drive) will be closed on Friday, June 21 to accommodate repairs to a broken watermain. The repair is expected to last one day, but due to the complexities of working on aging infrastructure, any extended closure will be promptly communicated.
Notification of this closure has been sent to Port Hope High School and STSCO. Additionally, the closure of the Jack Burger Sports Complex pools for maintenance means minimal impact is expected on that facility.
Transit Impacts
Bus route A will be rerouted around this closure. The bus will by-pass Cavan Street and stops A24, A25, and A26 will be out of service. After stop A23 on Cavan Street, the bus will head west onto Jocelyn Street, turn south onto Victoria Street, and then turn east at Highland Drive. It will continue to the Jack Burger Sports Complex, where it will turn around and head back west on Highland Drive, before resuming the regular route.
