The results of the 2024 municipal Ward 2 (Rural Area) By-election will be announced on election night, Thursday, June 6, 2024. Polls close at 8:00 p.m. After the results are tallied and verified, the results will be released to the public. This is expected to happen shortly after 8:30 p.m.
In-Person Announcement at Town Hall
Election results will be announced by the Clerk in-person at Town Hall (56 Queen Street) in the Council Chambers. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. for guests to arrive.
Please note that attendance at the in-person announcement is not required. Online and social media postings will occur concurrently with the announcement at Town Hall.
Online Announcement
The results will be posted online at porthope.ca/by-election, on our official Instagram and Facebook pages, and live-streamed on our YouTube channel. These announcements will occur simultaneously with the in-person announcement at Town Hall.
