Voluteer Firefighter Recruitment Night

Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services invites interested members of the public to attend the upcoming Volunteer Firefighter Recruitment Information Night on Thursday, February 27, 2020, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Port Hope Community Hub, located at 5325 County Road 10.
“We are looking for a few more exceptional individuals to join our dedicated team,” notes Fire Chief C. Ryan Edgar, Director of Fire and Emergency Services. “Our Volunteer Firefighters are notably reliable; prepared to respond to a call at any given moment and responsible for executing assigned tasks related to an all-hazards response approach. They provide an exceptional level of customer service to the public through emergency response, fire safety education and community events and we’re looking forward to recruiting more members of this caliber to the Service.”
At the information session, Fire and Emergency Services Staff will be on-hand to explain the Volunteer Firefighter recruitment process, the mandatory training requirements, and details about the position as a whole, including equipment, licensing requirements, incident and training response requirements, public engagement/education, compensation and insurance.
Members of the community who are interested in applying to be a Recruit Volunteer Firefighter with Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services are strongly encouraged to attend the information session on February 27.
