Update on Bell Service Issues in the Downtown Core
The Municipality has been made aware that some residents and businesses in the downtown core experienced Bell service disruptions during July and early August. These interruptions were caused by heavy rainfall, which affected exposed Bell lines undergoing updates as part of the Walton Street Reconstruction Project. Town Hall also experienced a service outage during this period.
Bell is actively working to resolve these service issues. If you are experiencing Bell connectivity issues on your home or office / business line, please contact Bell directly at 310-BELL (2355). While the Municipality is not able to directly assist with Bell services, we encourage residents to advise us of any disruptions that may be related to the ongoing reconstruction. Your feedback helps us ensure that all project-related concerns are being properly addressed by the correct organization.
Concerns can be reported:
- Online at porthope.ca/report-an-issue - click on the category “All About Walton”
- By-phone at 905-376-1481
- In person at 90 Walton Street
Fortunately, the new Bell service lines should result in fewer failures and issues in the future. In addition, the Walton Street Reconstruction Project includes the installation of enhanced stormwater management systems, designed to be more robust. Together, these improvements will strengthen and benefit our community for the long term.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we continue working towards improving the infrastructure in our community.
