Two Municipality of Port Hope Events win ‘Top 100’ Award from Festivals & Events Ontario
For Immediate Release
Tuesday, March 25, 2025 - Port Hope, ON
For the third year, the Municipality of Port Hope’s signature events, the Candlelight Festival and Arts Festival, have been named in the 2025 Top 100 Festivals and Events in Ontario by Festivals & Events Ontario (FEO).
This honour is awarded based on criteria such as community impact, uniqueness, economic contributions, and overall popularity. Earning a place on the Top 100 list highlights these festivals as outstanding examples of excellence in the industry.
“Our recognition on this list is a true reflection of the dedication and creativity within our community,” notes Olena Hankivsky, Mayor for the Municipality of Port Hope. “This achievement would not have been possible without the hard work and support of our incredible municipal staff, community partners and volunteers, whose efforts drive the development, promotion, and success of these events."
Submissions from FEO members were received for consideration in the fall of 2024 and were judged by an independent panel of judges. The selection process featured a diverse range of festivals and events from across Ontario, spanning local community celebrations to internationally renowned experiences.
Port Hope’s Arts Festival returns this year on Saturday, August 9, 2025, and the Candlelight Festival kicks-off with the beloved Candlelight Walk on Friday, November 28, 2025.
