Residents are advised that there will be two temporary road closures Downtown from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. on Friday, October 20, to accommodate a Wizard of Oz themed Costume & Puppet Parade. This Parade is in celebration of the 30th annual Vintage Film Festival in Downtown Port Hope.
Streets affected:
- Walton Street (from Ontario Street to Mill Street)
- Queen Street (from Walton Street to Augusta Street)
For participant and driver safety, vehicles parked inside the road closures are required to remain parked in place during the one-hour event. Vehicles will not be permitted to enter or exit the area until parade participants are off the street and the road reopens to traffic.
Transit impacts
Please note that both transit routes will be avoiding this closure for the final two transit runs of the day.
- Route A (7:00 p.m.) - Will travel up Augusta to Pine to Walton Street, missing stops A34, A35, and A36
- Route B (6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.) - Will travel straight up Ontario Street, missing stops B2, B3, and B4.
