Special Council Meeting - April 26, 2022
Residents are advised that a Special Meeting of Council will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. for Council to consider changes to the delivery of animal control services in the Municipality of Port Hope.
At the meeting, Council will consider a By-law to dissolve the current Joint Animal Control Municipal Services Board (JACMSB) and a transfer of animal care responsibilities and real property to the Northumberland Humane Society. A proposed animal control services agreement between the Municipality of Port Hope and the Northumberland Humane Society will also be considered.
Current members of the JACMSB include the Municipality of Port Hope, the Township of Alnwick / Haldimand, and the Township of Hamilton. All three municipalities will hold special Council meetings to consider the proposed changes as recommended by the JACMSB.
