A Special Council Meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 56 Queen Street, Port Hope.
At this meeting, Council members will receive a high-level overview from Canadian Nuclear Laboratories regarding their Quarterly Update on the Port Hope Area Initiative. This session will include updates on:
- Update on remediation processes, including lessons learned;
- Private Property remediation;
- Remediation status of major sites; and
- Economic impacts and engagement in 2023.
Council will further receive an overview from staff focusing on restoration of the ongoing remediation of the Pier and Harbour area.
This special meeting has been called to allow for appropriate time for discussion surrounding these topics and to allow for additional flexibility to regular presentation requirements.
