Rose Glen Road Reconstruction
Residents near Rose Glen Road are advised that CIMA+ and their sub-consultants will be undertaking a variety of activities along Rose Glen Road for the next several weeks to gather background information to support the design of infrastructure improvements. The survey area includes Rose Glen Road from north of Ward Street to Phillips Road.
Please note that during these upcoming activities, surveyors from CIMA+ may briefly enter onto portions of property fronting Rose Glen Road to survey the location and elevation of key features such as trees, property bars, driveways, walkways, gardens and water shut offs. Design team members may be in contact with individual landowners during the course of the design assignment to get additional background information particular to their property.
Purpose
This information will be used to help ensure the design process accurately considers features on private property when designing road, drainage, and sidewalk improvements.
The work being completed will include:
- Topographic survey of the road allowance and the front yards of properties along Rose Glen Road by CIMA+
- Inventory and assessment of trees within the public right-of-way and adjacent trees on private property by ClMA+
- Drilling of boreholes along Rose Glen Road to determine underlying soil conditions by Redstone Engineering Inc.
- Locating and marking of existing municipal and private utilities within the road allowance by 4Sight Utility Engineers
Project and timeline
The project will include widening, urbanization and rehabilitation of Rose Glen Road, which will include addressing elements of design such as pedestrian and cycling facilities, storm sewer, and signalization. The design portion of the project will begin in the spring of 2021 and conclude in the winter of 2021. Construction date of the project will be determined, pending future budget approvals.
Future public meeting
There will be a Public Meeting planned later this year to review what will be proposed for the road improvements and to gather feedback from the public and other community stakeholders. Notification of this future Public Meeting will be advertised and circulated well in advance of the meeting.
