At a recent Council meeting, staff from the Economic Development division presented a report outlining the 2024 marketing campaign for Port Hope Tourism, titled “Close to Home, Far from Ordinary”. Launched in March of this year, this campaign has been attracting audiences by highlighting the unique experiences and distinctive charm that makes Port Hope a standout destination. As the holiday season approaches, here's how the campaign continues to attract locals and visitors alike, highlighting Port Hope as a top destination for unforgettable travel experiences.
Highlighting Port Hope’s Unique Appeal
The campaign celebrates Port Hope’s year-round allure through a variety of platforms to connect with diverse audiences, including:
- Social Media and Digital Outreach: Through social media, including Facebook and Instagram and other digital platforms, the campaign is sharing the beauty of Port Hope’s landscapes, events, and community. With curated messages via Programmatic Audio on Spotify, listeners are inspired to embark on their next adventure here. So far, the social channels have seen impressive results, including over 750,000 impressions, 30,753 engagements, and 48,653 video views. - Print Features: Ads and features included in publications such as Canada Travel & Lifestyle Magazine, Watershed, Toronto Star, and Globe & Mail, have reached over 4 million readers across the GTA and beyond. - Influencer Collaborations: Partnering with top influencers has brought a fresh perspective to the campaign, spotlighting hidden gems like quaint cafes and scenic trails. - Radio Advertising: The campaign airs over major stations including CityNews 680, CHUM FM, Classical 96.3 FM, Boom 97.3, and CHFI 98.1.
