Ontario Government Launches Consultation on Ganaraska River Fishing Regulations
The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is seeking public input on proposed changes to recreational fishing regulations for the lower Ganaraska River. These proposed changes focus on adjusting the salmon fishing season dates and aim to:
- help protect vulnerable migrating Chinook salmon during peak migration
- provide extended angling opportunities for Atlantic salmon, brown trout, Pacific salmon, and rainbow trout in the fall season.
The full details of the proposal are now posted and include a link to the questionnaire that is being used to collect feedback.
