Notice of Public Meeting - Additional Residential Units (ARUs)
Notice of Public Meeting concerning a Proposed Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-Law Amendment – Additional Residential Units (ARUs) (File # OP01-2022 & ZB01-2022).
Take notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Port Hope will hold a Public Meeting on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. via ZOOM, according to Sections 17(15) and 34(13) of the Planning Act to consider a municipality-wide and municipally initiated application to amend the Official Plan and Zoning By-law 20/2010.
The purpose of the Official Plan and Zoning By-law amendments is to align the Municipality of Port Hope Zoning By-law with Provincial policy regarding Additional Residential Units (ARUs).
The effect of the Official Plan Amendment will be to permit the use of up to two ARU's in the Municipality of Port Hope subject to the regulations pertaining to ARU's in the Zoning By-law.
The effect of the Zoning By-law Amendment will be to permit the use of one ARU in the RES1, RES2, RES3, RES4, RESV1, RESV2, RESR, RESE, A, RU, ORM-RU and ORM-RS Zones and up to two ARU's in the RES1 Zone subject to the standards set out in the Zoning By-law Amendment.
As the proposed amendments apply to the entire geographic area of the Municipality of Port Hope no subject lands (or key map) map is provided.
