2024 Municipal By-election (Ward 2)
Notice to All Municipal Electors in Ward 2 (Rural) of the Municipality of Port Hope
This notice is for anyone interested in being a candidate in the 2024 Municipal By-election on June 6, 2024. Nominations for the position listed below must be filed on the prescribed form available, either in person or by your agent, with the Returning Officer during normal office hours between Monday to Friday until April 19, 2024, and on Nomination Day, Monday, April 22, 2024 between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Please call or email to make an appointment prior to filing your nomination.
Each potential candidate must file the prescribed endorsement of nomination form signed by at least 25 individuals who are Canadian citizens, aged 18 or older, and have a qualifying address in the municipality.
The prescribed filing fee for the Office of Councillor, Ward 2 is $100.00 (cash, debit, a certified cheque or money order made payable to the Municipality of Port Hope) and must accompany the signed form.
Candidates must not spend or raise any funds for their election campaign until the nomination forms have been filed.
