Notice of Complete Application and Public Meeting - Benson Court
Take notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Port Hope hereby considers an application to amend Zoning By-law 20/2010, as amended, submitted by Clark Consulting Services on behalf of the owner 564289 Ontario Limited for lands legally described as Blocks 1, 2, 3, & 5 of Plan 39M796 (see Figure 1: Subject Lands Map), to be a Complete Application in accordance with Section 34 (10.7) of the Planning Act. Furthermore, the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Port Hope will hold a Public Meeting on Tuesday, February 18th, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Hall, 56 Queen Street, to consider the proposed application (File # ZB01-2020).
Currently the subject lands are zoned General Employment Exception ‘EMP1(43)’ Zone by Zoning By-law 20/2010, as amended. In the Municipality of Port Hope Official Plan, the lands are designated ‘Service Employment’. Two motor vehicle dealerships and a telecommunication tower are located on the northern portion of the subject lands.
The purpose of the Zoning By-law Amendment is to add Hotel and Motel as additional permitted uses on the subject lands. The Hotel and Motel uses are not currently permitted in the current ‘EMP1(43)’ Zone. As such, rezoning of the subject lands is required.
If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of Municipality of Port Hope to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to Municipality of Port Hope before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at the public meeting, to be held at a later date, or make written submissions to the Municipality of Port Hope in respect of the proposed zoning by-law amendment before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Appeal Planning Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Municipality of Port Hope on the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment, you must make a written request to the Municipality of Port Hope at the address of 56 Queen Street, Port Hope, ON L1A 3Z9.
Additional information and material about the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment (File: ZB01-2020) will be available to the public for inspection between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, at the Municipal Development Team Office at 5 Mill Street South, Port Hope.
Dated at the Municipality of Port Hope this 22nd day of January, 2020.
