Municipality of Port Hope Announces the Resignation of Director of Development Services, Todd Davis
The Municipality of Port Hope has accepted the resignation of Todd Davis, Director of Development Services, who has been appointed as the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the Township of Douro-Dummer in Peterborough County. Mr. Davis' last day with the Municipality will be October 11, 2024.
Since joining the Municipality in 2022, Mr. Davis has played a pivotal role in overseeing several key areas within the Development Services Department, which encompasses the Economic Development, Tourism, Planning, and Transit divisions. His leadership has been marked by innovation, strategic planning, and a commitment to enhancing services for the community.
Reflecting on his time with the Municipality, Mr. Davis stated, “The opportunity to work close to home and make a real difference in my community has been a significant highlight to my career. While my tenure has been shorter than expected, I am very proud of the team here in Port Hope and confident the Municipality is moving in a positive direction and expect good things in the future”.
During his tenure, Mr. Davis played a pivotal role in advancing several key initiatives for the Municipality. He strengthened the Economic Development team, led the creation of the Economic Development Strategic Plan, and led the planning team in updating the Municipal Zoning By-Law. He also introduced destination marketing services to boost Port Hope’s visibility, collaborated on a Tourism Strategy, and initiated the development of the Land Inventory Project to optimize future development opportunities and support potential affordable housing opportunities.
Preparations are underway for the recruitment process to fill the Director of Development Services position. The successful candidate will be responsible for building on the progress made by Mr. Davis, continuing to advance the Municipality’s strategic objectives, and guiding the Development Services team in delivering excellent service to residents and businesses.
