In addition to these presentations, the forum will feature a session highlighting upcoming Municipal economic development efforts and other funding opportunities for businesses.
"We are thrilled to host this event as part of our commitment outlined in the Economic Development Strategic Plan," notes Olena Hankivsky, Mayor for the Municipality of Port Hope. "This forum serves as a platform for fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among our dedicated local business community."
Over the past 9+ years, the Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas’ (TABIA) Digital Main Street program has played a pivotal role in advancing the adoption of digital technologies, driving economic growth, and empowering small businesses to thrive in the digital era.
“Since the beginning, our goal has always been to simply educate and guide businesses through their adoption of digital tools and technologies. We are proud that some 104,000+ businesses have engaged and benefitted from this program across the country, thanks to great local partners like the Municipality of Port Hope,” says John Kiru, Executive Director of TABIA, Founder of Digital Main Street.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and they keep our local communities vital,” says Kay Matthews, Executive Director of the Ontario Business Improvement Area Association (OBIAA). “We welcome this opportunity to join Port Hope in helping local businesses secure their online presence for success in the future.”
This forum will kick off with a hot breakfast, providing attendees with an opportunity to network and connect with fellow business owners. This is a free event, but registration is required by February 20, 2024. Participants must register by visiting porthope.ca/business-forum and filling out the registration form.
