In-person Council Meetings will resume on July 5
The Municipality of Port Hope announces that Council meetings will return to in-person beginning July 5, 2022.
“Resuming in-person meetings has been a topic of discussion at the Council table and it is the right time to return to Town Hall,” notes Bob Sanderson, Mayor of the Municipality of Port Hope. “Since the very start of the pandemic we have held virtual meetings to continue to move the business of the Municipality forward. As the COVID restrictions are being lifted in almost all other sectors, it is appropriate to resume our meetings in Council Chambers. We look forward to welcoming our community back to Town Hall at our regular Council and Committee of the Whole meeting on July 5.”
Council Meetings, Committee of the Whole, and Public Meetings will be conducted in-person only. The format will resume to its pre-COVID structure; meetings will be recorded and available via the Municipality’s YouTube channel and the Council webpage. In the coming weeks, Staff will reach out to Advisory Committees regarding meetings options for Committees moving forward.
The previously advertised Public Meeting for the proposed Garden Hill development (3852 Ganaraska Road), scheduled for July 6, 2022, will be re-scheduled at a later date. Following agency circulation, additional information is expected to be received on the application, which will be included in the future meeting materials. A separate notice about this public meeting will be posted on the municipal website.
