Flags Lowered in Honour of Day of Mourning
Sunday, April 28 marks the National Day of Mourning. This solemn observance is dedicated to honouring and remembering the workers who have tragically lost their lives, suffered injuries, or faced illnesses due to workplace conditions. In recognition of this significant day, the flags at Town Hall have been lowered to half-mast and will remain lowered over the weekend.
We take this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to enhancing worker safety and to preventing future workplace tragedies. This day reminds us all of the critical importance of workplace safety and underscores the continuous efforts required to protect every worker.
We encourage everyone to contribute to this vital cause and learn more about how we can collectively ensure safer working environments. For further information, please visit the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) website.
Let us all pledge to prioritize safety and prevent further losses, honouring those we remember today.
