Election Results to be Posted Online and Announced In-person at the Capitol Theatre, October 24

The results of the 2022 municipal and school board election will be posted on election night, Monday, October 24, 2022, online at porthopevotes.ca and simultaneously announced in-person at the Capitol Theatre.

Polls close at 8:00 p.m. on October 24, and the election results will be tallied and verified by the Clerk and the Auditor. The results will be posted online at porthopevotes.ca at the same time that the announcement is taking place at the Capitol Theatre. It is anticipated that this will occur shortly after 8:30 p.m.
In-person announcement at the Capitol Theatre
Election results will be announced by the Clerk in-person at the Capitol Theatre. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. for guests to arrive. Polls close at 8:00 p.m. and after the results have been tallied and verified by the Clerk and the Auditor, the results will be projected on the stage screen and announced by the Clerk. It is anticipated that this will take place shortly after 8:30 p.m.
Please note that attendance at the in-person announcement is not required. Election results posted online will happen concurrently with the announcement at the Capitol Theatre.
A reminder that the Council Chambers at Town Hall is being used as a Voter Assistance Centre until 8:00 p.m. on election night. As such, the election results will not be announced at Town Hall, as has been the case in previous years.
