Director, Planning and Development Appointment
The Municipality of Port Hope is pleased to announce that Todd Davis has been hired for the Director, Planning and Development position, following the retirement of former Director, Tom Dodds.
“Mr. Davis is a welcome addition to our team,” notes David Smith, Chief Administrative Officer of the Municipality of Port Hope. “As a Northumberland County resident for decades and with both private and public sector experience, he is well connected with our community.”
Mr. Davis’ career began in business management (restaurant and hotel) and eventually transitioned into Economic Development in both Northumberland County and Prince Edward County. Mr. Davis has held progressive positions in Community Development and most recently held the position of Director of Community Services, Programs and Initiatives. He completed an undergraduate degree in Political Science and Philosophy and later completed courses towards a Bachelor of Education in Adult Education, while teaching hospitality courses at Loyalist College. With a career transition into the Planning and Economic Development field, Mr. Davis subsequently continued his education, attaining an Economic Development Certificate and Diploma in Municipal Administration.
“I am really excited to build on the great work that has been done in Port Hope and to contribute to the development of this wonderful community,” shares Todd Davis. “I'm thrilled to come home to work with staff, elected officials and residents all clearly passionate about their community.”
As a member of Senior Management, Mr. Davis will be responsible for leading the Planning and Development team, which includes the Planning, Economic Development, and Tourism Divisions.
Mr. Davis will join the Municipality of Port Hope on January 10, 2022.
