The Municipality of Port Hope is pleased to announce that Julia Snoek has been appointed the Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture, following the retirement of former director, Jim McCormack.
“Following a fulsome recruitment process including many external applicants and in-depth interviews, Julia’s experience and proven track record placed her at the top,” notes David Smith, Chief Administrative Officer at the Municipality of Port Hope. “Julia is well connected with the community and highly regarded by staff. This promotion is a testament to her talents and hard work.”
Ms. Snoek started at the Municipality 20 years ago during a work placement for her Sports Administration Diploma in 2001. In 2016, Ms. Snoek’s role expanded to the Community Development Program Manager where she exemplified her commitment to public service, collaboration, and leadership.
“I am so pleased and honoured to have this opportunity and to work in this new capacity,” shares Ms. Snoek. “I look forward to continuing to build on the services and opportunities which contribute greatly to the Port Hope community.”
As the Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture, Ms. Snoek is a member of the corporate senior management team and is responsible for the planning, administration, management and operation of the parks, recreation, culture and waterfront services.
