Residents are advised that the Municipality is offering a modified summer day camp program this year. Following the Ontario Government’s announcement on May 16, 2021, modifications will be made to our regular day camp programming in order to comply with provincial directives and to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our campers and staff.
Last summer, we offered successful modified camp programming and are confident that we can provide a fun, engaging and safe experience again this summer.
If permitted in the provincial guidelines, our camp will start the week of July 5, 2021. Camp registration will open online on Monday, June 7, at 9:00 a.m. Phone registration will also be available beginning the week of June 7, Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Once the Stay-at-Home Order is lifted and our facilities open, we will extend the phone registration hours. Registration is ongoing throughout the summer. You can register your camper until the Thursday prior to your camp week, if space is available.
Pending confirmation of the provincial guidelines, we anticipate the following modifications to camp:
- The day camp program will be available Monday to Friday for children ages 4 to 10 years old and registration is for week-at-a-time enrolment only.
- Camp hours will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. only, with no additional extended hours at this time.
- Camper pods will stay together all week and limit interactions with other participants and staff.
- Physical distancing will be maintained at all times when possible and when physical distancing is not an option, campers and staff will be required to wear a face mask.
- The summer program will be offered at the Town Park Recreation Centre.
In order to safely register, participate, and enjoy camp, parents and caregivers will be required to read and agree to the Day Camp Parent Handbook, a guide that includes all of the day camp details for this year. The handbook will be available for review on the day camps webpage once the provincial guidelines have been finalized.
