June 18 Council Meeting Cancelled and Public Meeting regarding Proposed Development Charges By-law postponed
Please note the following changes to the upcoming meeting schedule for the Municipality of Port Hope:
Council Meeting – June 18, 2024 – Cancelled:
Due to a lack of agenda items and inadvertent scheduling conflicts for Council members, the Council meeting scheduled for June 18, 2024, has been cancelled. The Committee of the Whole meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, June 25, 2024, will proceed as planned. The cancellation of the Council meeting is in accordance with the Procedural By-law.
Public Meeting – Proposed Development Charges By-law – June 18, 2024 – Postponed:
The Public Meeting regarding the Proposed Development Charges By-law scheduled for June 18, 2024, has been postponed due to the passing of Bill 185 by the Province, which includes proposed changes to regulations under the Development Charges Act. This meeting will be rescheduled at a later date to allow for the Development Charges Background Study to be amended.
Please note that the Development Charges (D.C.) Background Study was made available online for review and providing comments on the Municipality of Port Hope website myporthope.ca/development-charges as of May 10, 2024. Copies of the proposed D.C. By-law and the background study are also available from the Municipal Clerk (56 Queen Street, Port Hope, ON).
