Boat Launch Temporary Closure
Residents are advised that we are conducting dig dredging of the Port Hope harbour, at the municipal boat launch, on Friday, May 28, 2021. The boat launch will be temporarily closed during the work from 8 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m. on Friday.
This dig dredging is being conducted by Don Oliver’s Excavating to improve the functionality of the boat launch. Shallow waters are making it difficult for users to launch boats efficiently. This work will increase the depth of the boat launch and alleviate this issue for boaters.
The sediment removed will be stored on the asphalt area of the East Pier. It will be tested for Low-Level Radioactive Waste (LLRW) at a later date by Terraprobe. Fencing will be placed around the materials with signage on the fencing.
For more details on this dredging operation, please email Floyd Beattie, Manager, Parks and Facilities or call 905-885-8760.
