2023 Ganny Weekend Road Closures and Parking Restrictions
Float Your Fanny Down the Ganny returns this weekend to the mighty Ganaraska River on Saturday, April 8, 2023. Please take note of the following impacts:
Road closures
Residents are advised of the following road closures on Saturday, April 8 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to accommodate the annual race.
- Barrett Street (from Cavan Street to Ontario Street) – Beginning Friday, April 7
- Maitland Street (from Ontario Street to Cavan Street)
- Cavan Street (from Walton Street to Bedford Street) restricting local traffic to southbound only
- South Street (from Brown Street to Cavan Street), restricting local traffic to westbound only
- Hope Street North (from Molson Street north to dead-end)
- Partial closure of Sylvan Glen Road (from Dale Road to 4th Line) limiting traffic to northbound only
Parking restrictions
Residents, business owners, customers, and visitors are reminded of the following parking restrictions.
- Closure of the Cavan Street Municipal Parking Lot and Barrett Street Bridge from Friday, April 7 at 7:00 a.m. until Saturday April 8, at 6:00 p.m.
- Parking restricted to the South side of Bedford Street (from Brown Street to Cavan Street) from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on April 8
- Parking restricted to the South side of Massey Road (along the curve), from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on April 8
Please note: Vehicles in the above locations, during the designated times, will be removed at the expense of the owner.
Transit re-route
Residents are advised that Transit Route B will not stop at the southern Cavan Street stop. It will continue north on Mill Street, with the closest stops being Town Hall and Mill Street North (at Young Street). Visit the Transit page for a detailed look at the transit re-route map.
Safety reminder
Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services is reminding participants and spectators to be safe and enjoy the festivities. Please be advised that Emergency Services staff will be in the area flying drones to monitor the river.
