Walton Street Update

Phase 1 of the Walton Street reconstruction continues. Residents are advised of the following impacts and updates as the project progresses: 

• The intersection of Pine Street and Walton Street will be closed on Thursday, September 22 until the completion of the project.  
• Due to the intersection closure, the detour route has been changed. Please follow the detour routes marked on the roadways (Bramley Street South to Dorset Street West to Queen Street). 
• Transit Route A will also be affected by this closure. Bus stop A34 (Walton and Pine) is being relocated to the corner of Walton Street and Brown Street. The bus will turn north on Brown Street, west onto South Street and tie back into Pine Street North. For more information and a look at our interactive transit map, visit porthope.ca/transit.  

We appreciate your patience as we complete Phase 1 of the Walton Street Reconstruction Project. This work is imperative to improve our ageing infrastructure and a great investment in the future of our Downtown.
