Special Council Meeting – September 9, 2024
A Special Council Meeting has been scheduled for Monday, September 9, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. to begin in the Council Chambers at Town Hall (56 Queen Street, Port Hope) and proceed to various locations within the Municipality of Port Hope.
As part of Council’s ongoing 2022-2026 Professional Development, the purpose of this meeting is for Council to receive a tour of the four active industrial sites (Lions Park, Chemetron Lagoon, Former Coal Gasification Plant and Centre Pier). This will provide Council with the opportunity to receive detailed information on work and restoration plans and have specific questions answered.
The beginning of the meeting (taking place in Council Chambers) is open to the public and will be live streamed on our YouTube Channel. Then, for the purpose of the tour, Council will proceed into a closed educational and training session, in accordance with the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O., c.25.
In accordance with Section 239(3.1) of the Act, no Council member will discuss or otherwise deal with any matter in a way that materially advances the business or decision-making of Council.
