For Immediate Release
Monday, February 24, 2025 – Port Hope, ON
The Municipality of Port Hope is pleased to announce a collaboration with the Business and Entrepreneurship Centre Northumberland and the Port Hope & District Chamber of Commerce to deliver the Business Series Workshops to Port Hope this spring. From March to June, local business owners, operators, and entrepreneurs can attend free monthly workshops to upskill or reskill and assist them in today's competitive economy.
The workshop series kicks off on March 20 with a 90-minute virtual session on business planning essentials. On April 10, attendees will meet at the Town Park Recreation Centre to explore marketing strategies and how to choose the right approach for their business. The series continues on May 14 at the Port Hope Community Hub in Canton, where participants will learn how to future-proof their small business with artificial intelligence. The final session on June 11 will focus on digital video marketing.
"This partnership with our regional and local friends at the BECN and the Chamber is just one of many ways that the Municipality is working hard to support our business community,” says Desta McAdam, Director of Development Services at the Municipality of Port Hope. Manager of Economic Development Andrew Wallen added, “Last year, the Municipality, our partners, and the whole community came together to support one another through Phase 2 of Walton Street Reconstruction, and we not only survived but thrived. The Municipality of Port Hope is proud to continue in this spirit of collaboration to offer ongoing opportunities and resources to our local business owners and operators.”
The workshops are free to attend but registration is required, as spots are limited. Please visit the BECN Website to learn more and to register. Each workshop requires a separate registration. Questions about the workshops can be directed by email.
