Port Hope Canada Day is a homegrown festival. This free-to-attend event offers activities to a range of demographics, and is considered the party of the summer.
Our goal for the Port Hope Canada Day Celebration is bring community members and visitors together for a fun and shared experience.

Canada Day Activity Sponsorship Options

This year’s program of activities is designed to reach various community segments, from youth to older adults. Hosted in our downtown core, this year’s event programming will engage friends, neighbours and visitors. Activity sponsorship is a high-impact opportunity that creates engagement for all.

Bouncy Castle $800
Present bouncy castles in Memorial Park with this high-energy sponsorship opportunity. Bouncy Castles will be signed and staffed and are a favourite amenity for families.
Giant Games $700
Activate the event grounds with more hands-on fun for the Port Hope community. Giant Games, such as hoop toss and inflatable axe throwing, add just the right amount of friendly competition to the day.
Mini Putt $400
Locally designed and built nine-hole mini putt will be set up from event start to dusk creating a festival feeling in Memorial Park.
Entertainment Sponsor $600 (4 available)
Showcase live and local talent from the bandshell at the celebration of the summer. Your sponsorship will also provide backstage refreshments for the performers and mention from the emcee.
Wagon Rides $700
Wagon rides will transport event attendees around downtown. Free wagon rides for 3 hours.
Outdoor Movie $500 (3 available)
A 25ft inflatable screen will transform Memorial Park into an intimate outdoor theatre. The Movie in the Park will take place on June 30 as a kick-off to our Canada Day event.

Sponsor a craft table for children in Memorial Park! Participants will be invited to create a take-home craft and your sponsorship can help them discover their love of creative activities.

Locally designed and built carnival games will be set up in the event grounds to create a fun activity zone.
Wagon Rides $700
Free wagon rides will be offered during the Festival that will transport riders around the downtown area.
Songwriters Workshop $500
This new program component will be hosted by local songwriter and will invite new and experienced songwriters to come together to share work and explore ideas to keep the creativity flowing.
Sound Stage $600
Showcase live and local talent from the bandshell as we kick off the festival program. Your sponsorship will provide backstage refreshments for the performers and acknowledgement from the emcee.
10-Minute Plays $500 (per play)
Support the 10-Minute Play Series by sponsoring the production of original plays throughout downtown. 14 plays are being written specifically for this Festival and will expose audiences to live theatre in an accessible outdoor setting. Sponsorship options for individual plays or the entire series.
Patron of the Arts $500
This sponsorship provides hospitality for the performers and playwrights of the Festival, and the provision of indoors venues throughout downtown to support an inclement weather plan.

Outdoor Movies in the Park

Using a giant inflatable screen, we transform Memorial Park into an outdoor movie theatre. Film nights are presented free of charge, on 5 separate nights. Opportunities to present pre-movie entertainment, commercials and other on-site activations are only a phone call away.

All movies are hosted in Memorial Park, centrally located in downtown Port Hope. In the event of rain, movies will be moved indoors to the Fall Fair Centre and presented on the same evening. Both venues are accessible, and all movies will be shown with closed captioning.

Port Hope Candlelight Festival
|
|
The Port Hope Candlelight Festival is the kick-off to Port Hope’s holiday season where we transform the downtown into a magical winter wonderland.
Large crowds gather for the park lighting ceremony following a candlelit procession on the last Friday of November. The festival invites the crowd to sing together, sip cocoa, shop the town, take a wagon ride and enjoy public art. The next day, is the Port Hope Santa Claus Parade, which attracts a wide assortment of participants and spectators.
Candlelight Festival spans four weeks; it’s a small-town experience that is creatively evolving, while maintaining it's neighbourhood roots. Promotional campaign invites residents and visitors to explore Port Hope to find that festive feeling.

Indoor Warming Station $350
The Knights of Columbus Hall is the event warming station and indoor activity centre, where event attendees can take a break from the cool night air.
Warm Drinks $500
Candlelight Festival attendees are provided free hot apple cider, hot chocolate and treats. Last year we served over 700 cups in Memorial Park to participants following the Candlelight Walk.
Wagon Rides $700 (4 available)
Sponsor one or more dates of Free Wagon Rides throughout the month of December in downtown Port Hope! This magical holiday tradition is always a favourite. Free wagon rides for 3 hours.
Candlelight Walk Candles $1000
Bring light to the dark of winter by providing candles to illuminate the annual Candlelight Walk! This includes presenting both flame, and battery-powered candles, as well as wind guards.
