June is Seniors' Month!

June is Seniors' Month! The campaign celebrates seniors who built this province and recognizes the contributions that they have made in their communities. This year marks the 36th Seniors' Month in Ontario. The province-wide initiative to celebrate older adults in our community will be taking place virtually. Older adults aged 55+ are invited to take part in a variety of fun online challenges each week. Submissions to each challenge should be emailed to rclarkecentre@porthope.ca to be featured in a digital scrapbook. Let’s have some fun at home while we celebrate older adults in our community!

Week 1: June 1 to 6- Retro Photo Challenge

Seniors are invited to re-create a photo of themselves from the past.

Week 3: June 14 to 20“Dining Through the Decades”

Re-create a dish that you remember from your childhood or teenage years. It could be a school lunch, family meal or trendy party snack that was all the rage.

Week 3- “Dining Through the Decades”

Week 4: June 21 to 27- Words of Wisdom

In the information age, we tend to search the internet for answers to just about everything. Sometimes, advice is best obtained from actual people. Seniors are invited to submit a piece of advice that they would like to share with the younger generation.
