The Municipality of Port Hope offers training for those to work as camp leader or program staff. Volunteering is part of each course and allows hands-on learning.

Training courses

Leaders in Training

This 2-week mentoring program is designed to:

  • Enhance leadership skills
  • Teamwork abilities
  • Problem solving

Participants will volunteer after completing the program.

Prerequisite: Age 12 to 14 years

Leaders in Training Registration

Counsellor in Training

This 1-week program introduces day camp and program procedures. The participants will also learn HIGH FIVE® fundamentals. Participants will volunteer after completing the program.

Prerequisite: Leaders in Training, Age 13 to 16 years
