As the summer months approach, Municipality of Port Hope Staff has been monitoring the COVID-19 situation as it relates to our popular Summer Camp programs and is advising the community that registration for summer camp is delayed until further notice. While we are hopeful that there will be summer camp programming running this year, the safety and wellbeing of our residents and patrons is top of mind and we are following guidelines of the Chief Medical Officer and the Province of Ontario relating to child care before opening registration and promoting our programming.
Summer camp registration will open when restrictions on group gatherings is no longer prohibited and the Provincial Order is lifted.
In the meantime, Parks, Recreation and Culture staff are actively preparing for a fun, engaging and memorable summer camp, and will be prepared to run the camp, if possible. Our staff are revamping some of our usual camp planning and will implement the following new measures, where necessary:
While we are aware that summer camp may not run at all this summer, we do want our community to know that we are prepared either way. If we are able to provide this programming for our patrons, we want to be sure that we are well equipped to start up the camp on very short notice, should the opportunity arise.
The Municipality will continue to communicate more information as it becomes available. Please visit our website and social media channels for up-to-date and accurate information.
