At the Council meeting on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, Mayor Sanderson made the following statement regarding the ongoing crisis in Ukraine:

Sanitary Sewer Repair - Walton Street

Residents are advised that during today’s routine sanitary sewer repair on Walton Street, staff determined that more extensive repair is required. A temporary road closure on Walton Street, from Pine Street to Brown Street is in place until approximately 6:00 p.m. The repair work will not affect sanitary sewer / water usage.

Changes to Drop-in Program Operations

As key public health and system indicators continue to improve, Ontario is cautiously and gradually easing public health and workplace measures. As a result, starting on Sunday, February 20, 2022, you will no longer be required to pre-register for your favorite programs including swimming, skating, pickleball and badminton. You can just drop in for your program and check in at the customer service desk to process payment.

Warming Centres

We have made a change to our warming centre operations. The Town Park Recreation Centre is no longer the only designated warming centre. Residents may visit any of the following facilities during operating hours as a temporary space for relief from inclement weather and cold temperatures.
- Port Hope Public Library Mary J. Benson Branch, 31 Queen Street
- Jack Burger Sports Complex, 60 Highland Drive
- Town Park Recreation Centre, 62 McCaul Street
