Municipal Election Nomination Period Now Open

The nomination period for the upcoming Municipal Election is now open. Candidate Information Packages are available at Town Hall, 56 Queen Street, Port Hope.
To qualify as a candidate, you must be:
- A Canadian citizen;
- At least 18 years old;
- A resident in the Municipality of Port Hope, or;
- A non-resident of the Municipality of Port Hope and you or your spouse own or rent property in the municipality;

Today we observe National Day of Mourning. We remember the thousands of workers who have died, were injured, or suffered illness on the job or due to a work-related incident. We also honour the families, friends and co-workers whose lives are forever changed by these events.
Collectively, we can prevent worker injuries and deaths before they occur. We commit to protecting workers and preventing workplace tragedies as everyone has the right to return home safe at the end of each workday.

Hope Street South Closure Notice

Residents are advised that Hope Street South (From Peter Street to Shuter Street) will be closed from Sunday, May 8 to Friday, May 13, 2022 for CN Rail grade crossing maintenance. During this closure vehicular and pedestrian traffic can use the detour route from Peter Street to King Street and along Shuter Street.
