Rotary Centennial Project Consultation

In September of 2020, staff was approached by members of the Rotary Club of Port Hope outlining the desire to complete a substantial project for their upcoming 100th anniversary in 2022. Rotary will enhance the fish ladder park area. The goal is to create a unique focal point for both visitors and residents to enjoy, while recognizing the significant contributions of Rotary in the community.

Walton Street Project Consultation

The sanitary sewer and water infrastructure under Walton Street is aging and requires replacement to ensure continued servicing to the downtown. To accommodate new sewers, watermains, and building services, most of Walton Street will need to be dug up, meaning many sections of sidewalk and curb will also need to be removed and replaced.

The Municipality of Port Hope has confirmed that it will observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Thursday, September 30, 2021, as a paid holiday for permanent, full-time staff to honour and reflect on Canada’s residential school survivors, their families, and communities and to respect current collective agreements.
