Partial Parking Lot Closure - Jack Burger Sports Complex

Residents are advised that a portion of the parking lot at the Jack Burger Sports Complex will be closed on May 9, 2023 (weather permitting) to accommodate testing for the Port Hope Area Initiative on the property. This will include the Electric Vehicle charging station onsite. Fencing will be installed, and signs will be posted to indicate where access is restricted.

Roadside Vegetation Control in Rural Area

Residents are advised that the Municipality of Port Hope has hired Port Britain Chemicals Inc., to control vegetation along guiderails on rural roadsides in the Municipality (rural area only).
The following pesticide will be used:Finalsan Pro Commercial Concentrate PCP 30012, under the Pest Control Products Act (Canada)Active ingredient: Ammonium Salt of Fatty Acid. No surfactants used.
The work will commence the week of May 15 to 29 and again August 1 to 31, 2023, weather permitting.

Temporary Closure of Outdoor Fitness Park

Residents are advised that the Outdoor Fitness Equipment at the Cavan Street Park is closed today, Thursday, May 4, 2023, for approximately three weeks to install rubber surfacing.

Temporary closure of portion of Waterfront Trail

Residents are advised that the Waterfront Trail, from the Chemetron Lagoon parking lot to Gages Creek is temporarily closed on Thursday, May 4, 2023. The closure is to conduct trail upgrades to allow for safer, easier access to the Wastewater Treatment Plant shoreline chamber for future unscheduled maintenance.
The closure is anticipated to last one day, and the Trail will re-open on Friday, May 5, 2023.
