Daytime Clean Air Centres in Port Hope

The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (HKPR) District Health Unit has advised that continued poor air quality is expected throughout the week due to the smoke from wildfires burning in Ontario and Quebec. A reminder that residents may visit any of the following facilities during operating hours as a space to find temporary relief from the air quality concerns.

Residents are advised that Fire Services across Northumberland County have lifted the Total Burn Ban effective Tuesday, June 13 at 8:00 a.m. Remember, a Burn Permit is required for open air burning in the rural area of The Municipality of Port Hope. Open-air burning is prohibited within the Urban area. With recent significant rainfall and an improvement of air quality, the risks are low.

Residents are advised that vactor truck flushing of the sanitary and storm sewer system will begin Monday, June 5, 2023 and will occur until the end of September. During this time, there will be minor traffic impacts and, for public and staff safety, occasional night work to avoid high traffic volumes.
