National Day of Observance for COVID-19

The Government of Canada has designated Thursday, March 11, 2021 as a National Day of Observance for those who have died of COVID-19.
To date, more than 22,000 Canadians have died and over 800,000 have been infected by the virus.
In honour of the National Day of Observance, the flags at Town Hall have been lowered to the half mast position today.

COVID-19 Arena Update

On Monday, March 8, 2021, Port Hope, along with all of Northumberland County, was moved into the Yellow-Protect Zone of the Provincial COVID Response Framework. As such, Parks, Recreation and Culture staff have reviewed current protocols and updated arena operations.
Spectators permitted for Minor Hockey and Figure SkatingSpectators are now permitted inside the arena, along with accompanying guardians, for minor sports bookings (Minor hockey and figure skating only).

Climate Change Survey

The Climate Change Working Group for the Municipality of Port Hope, in collaboration with graduate students and faculty from McMaster University, is seeking input through a comprehensive survey from residents and stakeholders to help inform a Climate Change Action Plan for the Municipality.

Residents are advised that the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) has scheduled a Case Management Conference by video for the Penryn Mason Homes Inc. Phase 5 LPAT Appeal.
The Case Management Conference date is Friday, May 28, 2021.
