Tax Due Date - April 28

Interim tax bills were mailed February 2, 2021. The second installment of the interim tax bill is due April 28, 2021.
Payments can be made several ways:
- in-person at your bank (where possible and in accordance with the current COVID-19 measures)
- by telephone or online banking through your bank
- by mail with a cheque to 56 Queen Street Port Hope, Ontario L1A 3Z9
- by cheque at the drop-box mail slot located on the front door of the Town Hall - 56 Queen Street

Statement from Mayor Sanderson Regarding Ganny Weekend

I appreciate the input that residents have provided regarding the Ganny Weekend promotion and I would like to address some of those concerns. I would also like to assure everyone that our first priority is the health and safety of all our residents.
To be clear, there was not, nor was there ever, an ‘event’ organized or supported by the Municipality. We are not inviting tourists to our community and we are not encouraging people to gather in groups while the pandemic remains a grave concern.

On Thursday, April 1, 2021, the Provincial government announced that it is imposing an “Emergency Brake” across Ontario beginning Saturday, April 3, 2021 as a result of the increase in COVID-19 infections provincially and to prevent the further spread of the virus. Walton Street Reconstruction Public Information Centre

The Municipality of Port Hope has engaged CIMA+ to complete the design of infrastructure improvements on Walton Street from Mill Street west to Church Street.
The project will address important underground infrastructure improvements to aging watermains and sanitary sewers as well as undersized storm sewers. The need to replace underground infrastructure, while challenging, will create opportunities for roadway reconstruction and streetscape improvements to be integrated into the project.

Sewer Inspections on Walton Street

Residents are advised of upcoming sanitary sewer inspections on Walton Street for infrastructure maintenance and improvements. The inspections are scheduled to begin on Monday, March 29 and are expected to be completed by Thursday, April 1, 2021.
Wastewater division staff will be performing the inspections using a closed-circuit television camera on Walton Street from Church Street to Mill Street.
