We are reviewing our Property Standards By-law. Property standards set the rules for how properties in Port Hope should be maintained. These rules help make sure that buildings, yards, and general cleanliness meet certain standards. We are making changes to better meet what our community needs now and to match what nearby towns are doing. The By-law covers aspects such as:

Today, Municipality of Port Hope Council, alongside staff and community members, united with forward-thinking municipalities and organizations to commemorate the beginning of Black History Month. This was marked by a distinguished Pan-African flag raising at Town Hall.

Under the Municipality's established rotation system for the Deputy Mayor role, Claire Holloway Wadhwani has assumed her turn as Deputy Mayor of Port Hope for 2024.

A Special Council Meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 56 Queen Street, Port Hope.
