The Candlelight Walk returns down Walton Street on Friday, November 24 at 6:00 p.m. The following day, on Saturday, November 25, the Santa Claus Parade will also take place on Walton Street at 1:00 p.m. Residents are advised of the following traffic, parking, and transit interruptions to accommodate these events:

Update: The railway crossing maintenance work is now complete. The road will remain closed until Tuesday, November 28 at 7:30 a.m. to allow the asphalt to settle overnight. Thank you for your patience.

Walton Street Reconstruction News

The tender for the second phase of the Walton Street Reconstruction project closed on November 3, 2023. However, there was only one compliant bid, and the quoted project costs were significantly more money than the Municipality had initially planned for this project. The proposed budget is too high for what the Municipality approved. Staff have written a report to Council, suggesting that they cancel the current bid and break the project into two parts over two years to better manage costs....
