Inaugural Council Meeting to take Place November 17 at Town Hall

The Municipality of Port Hope’s Inaugural Meeting of Council will take place on November 17, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall (56 Queen Street).

During the meeting, the Mayor and Councillors will make their Declaration of Office, officially beginning the 2026 to 2030 Council Term. No Council business will be considered at the Inaugural Meeting.

On Wednesday, November 11, members of Branch 30 of the Royal Canadian Legion Port Hope will gather near the Capitol Theatre at 10:25 a.m. to march down Queen Street to the Memorial Park Cenotaph (44 Queen Street) for the Remembrance Day Service beginning at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend.

Augusta Street Closure - November 2

Please be advised that Augusta Street (from Queen Street to Elias Street) will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2. This temporary closure is required to facilitate the installation of the new veterans crosswalk.

Walton Street Bridge Watermain Repair Beginning November 2, 2026

Update 11/3/26: Overnight water shut-offs will now occur on November 4 and 5. Affected residents will be notified via a hand delivered notice

The Walton Street Bridge (between Mill Street South and Queen Street) will be reduced to one lane (east bound) until the end of November, while crews complete long-term repairs to the watermain located beneath the bridge and river. These repairs are related to the watermain break that occurred in December 2025.
