Land Access Restriction Lifted

Residents are advised that the land use restrictions bordering the Ganaraska River will be lifted on Friday, May 7, 2021. Access to municipally owned green spaces, trails, and paths along the River will be open to the public for pass-through use only, as will the municipal boat launch and access to the fish ladder.
Recreation fields and amenities, including the outdoor fitness equipment at Cavan Street Park and the Skate Park remain closed, per the Provincial Government Order.

Outdoor Rink and Sports Pad Survey

Residents are advised that the Municipality of Port Hope is seeking public input regarding a potential new outdoor covered rink and sports pad. This project is being initiated as one of the priorities for the 2021 Leisure Services Master Plan and as a result of the low-level remediation work to be performed at the Caroline Street Rink.

On Thursday, April 1, 2021, the Provincial government announced that it is imposing an “Emergency Brake” across Ontario beginning Saturday, April 3, 2021 as a result of the increase in COVID-19 infections provincially and to prevent the further spread of the virus. In response to the new measures from the Province, Municipal operations will continue as follows:

COVID-19 Arena Update

On Monday, March 8, 2021, Port Hope, along with all of Northumberland County, was moved into the Yellow-Protect Zone of the Provincial COVID Response Framework. As such, Parks, Recreation and Culture staff have reviewed current protocols and updated arena operations.
